First off, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, Mel. I've never been the best when it comes to explaining about myself because
I see my life as rather boring. I'm just an average girl with a huge interest in books, literature and web design. See? Quite uninteresting haha. Anyway, I'll give this my best shot...
I was born in the seventh month of the year, 1989, at Mercy Maternity hospital to a twenty year old, single, mother. I don't know my biological father, but I plan to one day get in contact with him...
I just need to work up the courage first. I am a cancerian and I find astrology an interesting subject: the stars seem to do more then twinkle at night! I have four wonderful brothers and a mother
who means more to me then she probably realises. I live in a small country town located in Victoria, Australia. The most we can boast about is our beautiful lake and the annual summer rowing which
attracts a large amount of tourists. I've lived here since I was five and still to this day I'm not accepted as an authentic 'local' because I wasn't born in the towns hospital.
My family and I are very close knit and, while I don't have a whole entourage of friends, I can take claim to having a best friend who beats a horde any day! I met Alicia in third grade -
she transferred to the primary school I attended. Our recollection of that first meeting is different. I don't even remember it but Alicia says when she entered the class in the morning
I stood up and told her she could sit with me. That's how our friendship started and, after tens years, we're still going strong! Everyone needs a friend like Alicia in their life. When
others left my side she was always standing tall beside me. We confide and don't keep secrets from one another and if I have a problem or just need someone to rant and vent to or a shoulder to cry on,
Alicia is there.
I don't really have many hobbies. My few passions in life include writing romantic, sci-fi fiction and devouring books with my eyes. I have so many books my bookshelf no longer has any space.
I enjoy 19th century period pieces, psychological thrillers, vampire related novels and drama/romance. I believe books are like living in a persons shoes for a day and I'm a sucker for happy
endings. I love buying new books from bookstores or online but what I really enjoy is buying old, romantic period pieces written in the 80's from thrift stores.
I'm not one for partying hard and getting drunk every weekend. I'm a social drinker (probably no more then 3-4 times a year) and drugs hold no interest for me. I'd much prefer staying in and playing The Sims 2 then going to a party lmao.
I despise name-droppers and people who assume that by telling me how much they paid for such-and-such I'll think more highly of them. People who lie, cheat or are obnoxious social climbers wont
last long with me. I have no patience with self-obsessed people who act like they care but in reality are thinking of themselves and how they can gain something.
And if you want to play psychological mind games with me, please go invest in a rope - I'll be more than glad to kick the chair.
I can be compulsive with decisions - like how I wanted to dye my black hair white blonde. I did it and now, after more then 6 months, I'm sick of it. I also have trouble letting go of the past. Somewhere deep inside I like to be connected to situations or people that once made me elated but ended up hurting me. I long to live in another era and find modern day to be fickle and media obsessed.
At twenty I still don't know what I would like to do with my life. Its a toss up between a makeup artist or a Liberian. I'll have to decide some day soon or before I know it I'll be thirty and feel like I've wasted my younger years haha.
